Making Your Home Sing Monday – Making Our New Home A Home
A new Monday Meme to begin the first full week in our new home.
Yes, we finally made it – we’re here – nestled gratefully and happily among the boxes of our belongings in our apartment in the senior community. I’ve set up the kitchen (first things first and a family must be fed…), I’m moving slowly and steadily onward, deciding what should go where and putting it there.
Russ went out this morning and took some pictures of the building and of the walking trail next to where we live – the trail that Maya and I will visit often to walk our new dog.

I’ll be taking some pictures of the inside very soon – just as soon as I can find the battery recharger for my camera!
Did I say New Dog?
Why yes, I believe I did.
We’ll be picking her up on Wednesday morning, God willing and the river don’t rise…
Here are some pictures of our new little girl…

Our new home began to sing when our neighbor knocked on our door on Thanksgiving morning with song (and a tin of cookies) in her hand. On the card she gave us to welcome us to the neighborhood – a card I will frame and hang in my kitchen - was this song of blessing.
Lord, make this home a happy place
aglow with warmth and cheer,
A friendly place so everyone
feels truly welcome here,
A peaceful and contented place
that’s filled with trust and love…
Lord make this home
a happy place
and bless it from above.
You shall rejoice in all the good which the Lord your God has given you and your household. (Deut. 26:11)
God Bless Your New Home!
Please visit Nan at Mom’s the Word for more of Making Your Home Sing Monday. She has a super post this week – a message of encouragement while knowing your limitations. I’ll be reminding myself of her words often as I move through this week of unpacking and helping my home begin to sing.

I am so excited you joined us! I know that moving can be very stressful. What a sweet thing for your neighbor to do and thank you for sharing that lovely poem.
Your dog is so cute and from your picture it looks like you’ll have some beautiful scenery to enjoy as you walk.
Blessings on your new home and glad you’re settling in. Thank you for linking up today!
