After a whole lot of searching, poking through streams and ponds and bogs – we found some! Tadpoles! An older boy at the park helped Maya with the capture, reminding her that you kind of have to keep them in water – not hold them in the cupped palm of your hand….

Man, I used to love finding those in the pond!!!
What fun! I used to find tadpoles in mud puddles now and then and move then to the horse troughs. Not sure if I was supposed to or not, but it was fun.
How cool. I remember when we had tadpoles. How we watched them. Everyday we checked for shrinking tails and growing legs.
I so thoroughly enjoyed reading about tadpoles now I want some too.
Looking forward to popping in again soon.
Waving at you from the States.
OMG, how interesting. I don’t think i ever saw a tadpole. But I love frogs and how they feel. Cool and slick. Great list!
How amazing is that?!!! Y’know when my kids were little doing such things…we didn’t have anything called computer or internet. Love this.
My post is up. Come on over and see some odd creatures. You’ll be amazed. Happy Thursday.
Very KEWL ;–)
Looks like FUN to me!
Hugs and blessings,
I remember the tadpole days with my kids…
Great pictures!
What great memories you’ve inspired with this post and these adorable photos! Thanks!
That’s awesome! We homeschool and I’ve been trying to find some tadpoles in the pond behind my sister’s house to no avail. I want my boys to have some to sort of “raise” since the life cycle of a tadpole is one of the things we’ll be covering in school this year.
Thanks for sharing. Very cool 13!
Great way to have fun! Good to know there are children who still have fun the old fashion way. Great pictures and great memories!
My children once got one of those tadpole farms as a present.
We watched that tadpole.
And watched that tadpole.
He never did turn into a frog.
I finally took him to the nearest pond.
Wow tadpoles? thats awesome! Here in Nevada it seems that our equivalent to tadpole hunting is lizard hunting. Even though I am older now I think it would be fun to do a little tadpole hunting
Do you realize that most kids would have no idea as to what a tadpole is? It’s really sad.
Martha
What a neat tadpole bowl you have. Nice and big.
If you try those fish tacos I wrote about, let me know how you liked them.
