What’s your Grandma’s name?

Grammy.
Or Karen. But I don’t have to listen to you when you’re that name because you’re just a computer.

I had no idea what this answer meant. I was afraid it meant that she saw me in two roles – Grammy and Karen – and that “Karen” was too busy working on the computer to be “Grammy”.
Then I talked to her mother.
Ahhh…
“Karen” is the name of the computer wife of Plankton, a character on that fool show Sponge Bob. Apparently Plankton doesn’t listen to his computer wife Karen?
I don’t know.
Grammy doesn’t watch Sponge Bob. Grammy likes Caillou on PBS – a very nice little boy who always listens to his grandmother.

What is a hot dog made out of?

I don’t know that one.

I don’t know. I live in in Connecticut.

If you invented something, what would it do?

(I asked her this one in the car on the way home from kindergarten orientation. Such a long answer from the carseat! )

I would invent a paper cat. A cat made out of paper that I would give to my real cat. But my real cat would wreck a paper cat so I would invent a robot cat that my real cat could play with. It would walk and meow and play with my cat. I would invent a paper cat too, then the robot cat could wreck it and my real cat could still play with it after it was wrecked.
I could enter my robot cat in the fair.
Can I enter my robot cat in the fair?
I’m going to make a diorama.
