Red Cross brings aid to Monson victims: wwlp.com
MONSON, Mass. (WWLP) – An area where people are still smiling despite the devastation. Monson is a different world since the tornado hit.
The Red Cross rolls up when disaster strikes.
And when people are trying to clean up, just getting cold water makes a difference.
Michelle Winer lost her childhood home in the tornado, but she says her father is staying strong.
Michelle Winer says, " He's here every morning as early as he can, I know Thursday morning they left at 6:30 to get over here to try to salvage what we could. We've got a lot of memories.”
People from all over have come in to help.
You can get the rest of this story from WWLP here
At the very end of the news clip above you'll see my daughter passing off what looks to be a sheet of plywood to another worker. She volunteered to help out on her day off from work.
You'll see lots of blue in the clip too – note the flag bravely waving where a house is down. Rachel said there were many flags there.
It seems that for every disaster that takes your breath away, the stories of resilience and generosity that follow allow hope to remain.
God bless us.

I too was stunned to hear about this tragedy.
Happy Blue Monday, Wren!
good job, rachel!
Thank goodness for volunteers like your daughter in times like this.
So much of this type disaster this year. It is happening in areas that never have storms., I feel so sorry for all those affected by mother nature at her worst.
Oh Lord please help them!
