Blue Monday Gardening
May 9th, 2011 by Grandmother Wren
A sunny Blue Monday morning in the garden. Late spring moving into early summer – it's time to start planting.
Here is a basket of pansies we potted and hung on the garden hook -
If you have just a tiny bit of patience, it is much less expensive to pick up a couple of six packs of annuals and plant your own hanging basket – twelve little plants for less than $4.00 or a full hanging hanging basket for $12.99.
Patience pays.
Maya and I have been scouting the neighborhood for wild violets, digging them up and bringing them home to nestle under the shrubs. More thrifty gardening and so pretty…
We did splurge on a cherry tree last year – we planted it in front of the picture window. It is lovely in bloom this spring.
