Grandmother’s Quilting

sewmach.gif Not this grandmother’s quilting, unfortunately.

My sister does beautiful quilting.  I had pictures of her work to share before my computer crashed.  I’ll take more pictures and be thankful it was the pictures that were lost and not the quilts themselves!

I don’t quilt. I just admire.

Here’s a great website to spend lots of time on this weekend (it’s supposed to snow again…)

Grandmother’s Quilting – Family Heritage Quilts by Creative Quilters

“There is no antique more expressive of our foremothers than patchwork, which, in the main, took the form of bed-quilts. Pieced or appliquéd, the quilt has been, in America, a wholly feminine creation.”

~ Ruth E. Finley (1929)
